Meet The Team
Jim Vaughn:
Jim has been passionate about weather his entire life, starting as a weather observer with the National Weather Service at just 12 years old. He studied Meteorology at Penn State and worked as a forecaster for AccuWeather. For the past 30 years, he has served as a Meteorologist for the FAA, while also providing forecasts for Verizon's weather phone services nationwide.
James Covington:
James is a Meteorologist and Storm Chaser with nearly 30 years of experience. He studies geology, astronomy, and climate—with a focus on natural climate change—and has co-authored published scientific research papers. James also works with ham radio, is an electronics technician, and enjoys photography and strategy games. James was regarded as one of the tallest professional meteorologists in the world measuring nearly 6 feet 10 inches tall.
Corey Harguth:
Corey joined Nowcast Weather in December 2016, starting with just a few stations from his dining room table. He now manages weather coverage for over three dozen stations nationwide. A graduate of Iowa State University with a degree in Atmospheric Sciences, Corey has been a full-time Meteorologist and On-Air Personality since May 2024 in Southern Minnesota, following over six years as a trusted local voice in Northwest Iowa.
Matthew Harding:
Matthew is a Senior Weather Observer at Pacific Weather Inc., where he’s been delivering hourly observations from Mid-Continent Airport in Wichita, Kansas since 2011. A Wichita State University graduate with a background in journalism, he combines precision with clear communication in his reporting. He currently lives in Wichita with his spouse—and was absolutely going to send in his bio… right after just one more weather report.
Scott Cook:
Scott developed a passion for weather growing up along the Gulf Coast, where hurricanes sparked his early interest in the atmosphere. He got his bachelor's degree in Atmospheric Science at Texas A&M University and interned at KBTX, gaining experience in forecasting and online engagement. After graduating in 2014, he worked at KRBC in Abilene and later spent five years at KFDX in Wichita Falls. Since 2017, Scott has been a meteorologist for Nowcast Weather.
Dean Fettes:
Dean is a veteran radio personality with over 30 years of experience in markets across New York, New England, and Arizona. Based in Clinton, New York, he hosts the nationally syndicated Retro 80’s Weekend and runs Retro 80s Radio 24/7. Dean provides daily weather forecasts for stations nationwide, blending accuracy with an engaging on-air style. He’s also a proud father of three and a fan of the Arizona Diamondbacks and Cardinals.
Christopher Cawley:
Christopher earned a B.S. in Operational Meteorology from Mississippi State University in 2017 and has been with NowCast Weather since its early days. Based in Whiteville, North Carolina, he balances life as a dedicated father, teacher, and musician. A lifelong Atlanta Braves fan, Christopher brings a wide range of experience and passion to the team.
Trisha Cook:
Trisha brings a diverse background in multimedia, design, and broadcasting to the Nowcast Weather team. With a bachelor's in Multimedia/Graphic Design and Business, she has worked in both newsroom and radio station settings, gaining experience in production, presenting, and on-air delivery. A creative with a growing interest in voice work, Trisha combines visual storytelling and communication to help deliver engaging, high-quality content.
Bob Stei:
Bob, a Philadelphia and Baltimore native, brings over 30 years of radio experience, beginning at Manhattan College in 1990. He currently hosts the nationally syndicated Grunge Garage radio show and has worked at stations including WRFF Philadelphia, WBAB Long Island, and WIYY Baltimore. Bob lives outside Philadelphia with his wife Melissa, their three kids, a dog, and three cats.
